Greetings, I am Gizem. I have been working as a copywriter and editor, mainly on blogs, for about 10 years. I have been working independently and remotely since 2015 , the first 5 years of which were freelance and the last 3 years at the content agency I founded under the name PUN Content Agency . My knowledge in the field of copywriting is based on the training I received while studying at the Department of English Language and Literature at Boğaziçi University and later at different institutions. We are better known among companies working in the field of technology and software. Because this is my personal interest.
When I was about to turn 30, after my master's degree, I studied Namibia Email List Computer Programming at Izmir University of Economics with a scholarship for a year. When I realized that I needed to spend a lot of time and effort to write satisfactory code, I decided to use the knowledge I gained here in copywriting. I quit the school. Between 2020 and 2022, I lived as a digital nomad in India, Peru, Bolivia, and Mexico. Since the end of 2022 I have been living with my wife in a small village in the south of France. Thank you for joining Gizem. Where do you think blogging is today compared to before? Also, what do you think are the pros/cons of the blogging world among digital marketing strategies? Thank you for your invitation.
Blogging has become a completely different profession compared to 10 years ago. Because Google and other search engines, which are getting smarter with developing technology, constantly update their algorithms. This means bloggers need to constantly update themselves. On the other hand, technology is developing in every field. And in fact, blog posts are the easiest type of content to adapt to this change. Because updating articles is much more practical than updating videos or social media content. I think this is an overlooked advantage of the blogosphere. Statistics show that blog posts are still widely read. We cannot deny that video content is on the rise. But the fact that blog posts can be easily consumed anytime, anywhere attracts the target audience to the blog post. Ideally, different formats and platforms should be used to support each other, and the blog post provides a very good resource on this subject.
